The EGIP Foundation collaborated with PCEEM (People Collaborating for Environmental and Economic Management) in order to map out Purok 1 and identify particularly Forest and Agricultural Areas.
On May 24-26, 2011 was the Mapping of landmarks and boundaries of Barangay Carmen IP Community Ancestral Domain in Barangay Carmen
In order to start the project, a meeting with community leaders in Barangay Hall of Barangay Carmen was performed to set plans and strategies in mapping landmarks such as rivers and creeks in their ancestral domain within their territories.
Among the identifies results were existing land cover of one of the ancestral domain areas that are mostly brushlands, there is also aSecondary/ Open forest near Mabanlascreek and a dense forest with hard woods in the upper part of Talomo River.
On June 26, 2011 was the Mapping of Community Farm in Karilonan Creek of Barangay Carmen IP Community; this was for the mapping of their existing community farm.
From this project, the foundation will be able to identify forest areas which shall be protected.
